Vintage Royal Albert "Jubilee Rose" Dinner Plate – Mixed Floral Border, Scalloped Edge, Gold Trim, Fine Bone China, England 1980s
Every flower gets its moment in this border — roses, cornflowers, daisies, all winding together in a garland that circles the plate like a well-tended cottage path. Royal Albert's "Jubilee Rose" is the quiet pattern that makes everything on the table look better.
A continuous ring of mixed garden flowers wraps the scalloped rim: deep red and soft pink roses anchor the composition, joined by sprays of blue cornflowers, warm apricot blooms, and tiny white accent flowers, all threaded through with olive-green foliage and trailing leaves. Between the floral clusters, rust-brown scrollwork — fine curling tendrils — adds a classic decorative rhythm that keeps the eye moving around the plate. The wide white centre is left deliberately open, making this plate equally beautiful as a display piece or as the backdrop for food at a dressed table.
The scalloped edge follows the gentle petal-shaped outline that Royal Albert does so well, each curve picked out in fine gold. Produced in bone china at the Stoke-on-Trent factory during the 1980s, "Jubilee Rose" belongs to the generation of Royal Albert patterns designed for both daily use and display — substantial enough for a dinner service, refined enough for a wall or cabinet. The multicolour palette means it coordinates effortlessly with almost any table setting, from rustic linen to formal damask.
