Vintage Royal Worcester "Mistral" Figurine – Forces of Creation, Lady with Dove, Iridescent Lustre Glaze, Fine Porcelain, England 1997

A warm Mediterranean wind caught in porcelain — this is the kind of piece that stops you mid-step when you spot it on a mantelpiece. Royal Worcester's "Mistral" captures a fleeting moment of freedom: a young woman releasing a dove skyward, her gown swept into a swirl of lavender and pearl.

Part of the now-discontinued Forces of Creation series, "Mistral" was modelled by sculptor Richard Moore and released in 1997, drawing its name from the legendary dry north wind of Provence. What sets this figurine apart is its remarkable iridescent lustre glaze — the surface shifts between soft lavender, blush pink, and pearlescent white depending on the light, recalling the sheen of mother-of-pearl. The deep cobalt bodice provides striking contrast against the flowing, translucent-edged skirts. Every fold of fabric, every strand of windswept hair, every feather on the dove's outstretched wings has been rendered with the meticulous detail Royal Worcester was known for during their final decades of English production.

Founded in 1751 and the first English pottery to receive a Royal Warrant, Royal Worcester closed its Worcestershire factory in 2009 — making every piece from the Forces of Creation series permanently out of production. At approximately 30 cm (12 inches) tall, "Mistral" commands presence on a shelf or display cabinet without overwhelming a room. A collectible that bridges fine art and decorative porcelain, perfectly at home in a grandmillennial interior or a curated vintage collection.
