Vintage Wedgwood Pale Blue Jasperware Miniature Fluted Tray – Classical Sprig Center, Sunburst Rim, Original Box J1000 / 3672, England 1990s
A small round Wedgwood jasperware tray, complete in its original purple Wedgwood gift box with the firm's standard a living tradition booklet inside. The tray itself is pale blue jasper, ~4" across, finished with the firm's identifiable Fluted rim — alternating raised and recessed radial flutes running outward like a sunburst — and a central white sprigged-on medallion of a classical female figure with a small attendant, in the Wedgwood neoclassical manner that descends from the 1780s Lady Templetown / Flaxman drawings the firm has been reproducing ever since.
Wedgwood invented jasperware in 1774, and the Fluted Tray mini line is one of the small-format series Wedgwood built for the gift / collectible market through the 1990s — small enough to slip into a stocking, finished to the firm's standard solid-jasper specification. The SKU label on the gift-box end reads J1000 / 3672 / Miniature Round Fluted Tray, confirming the original-issue Wedgwood product code and pairing the piece with its packaging.
The base is impressed WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND in the firm's standard format. The purple gift box is Wedgwood's 1990s–2000s packaging — newer than the black Wedgwood of Etruria box of the 1970s–80s, and a useful date marker for collectors building a Wedgwood Pale Blue Jasperware timeline.
A complete boxed jasperware mini — tray + box + booklet — is markedly more collectable than the tray alone: most boxes were discarded, so surviving complete sets are now the version Wedgwood collectors and gift-buyers chase.
A piece for the Wedgwood Jasperware collector, for the small-decoration vignette, for a vanity or bedside ring tray, or as a ready-boxed Mother's Day / hostess / housewarming gift.
