Cherished Teddies event pieces had a birthday precise to the day. Enesco released them only at licensed gift shops holding a collector event on one specified date; when the doors closed that evening, the piece was done — no reorders, no catalogue listing, no second chance. However many collectors turned up that Saturday is however many exist. Alongside the club bears and the Avon exclusives, event pieces are one of the three non-retail categories that serious Cherished Teddies collectors track — and the only one dated to a single day.
The design follows the event logic exactly: nothing on the front commits to a year or a holiday, just a universal Bear Hugs tag on a little gold ring, a pink polka-dot heart between her paws, a mint bow at her neck and Hillman's signature gingham patch on her leg. Front for giving, back for the record. Under her left foot is the pressed bear-head seal that marks a genuine Cherished Teddy.
The base carries it all: ©2000 Priscilla Hillman, Licensee Enesco Group Inc., 786845, with a handwritten registration number, IH4/319 — someone who stood in line that January mailed in the card and formally adopted her.
At 2¾ inches she asks for no shelf space at all. Send a hug that holds its shape, or file her with the event pieces where she belongs.

Excellent condition. Tag lettering crisp, gold ring bright, heart and bow paint complete, base plaque fully legible with all three felt pads intact. No chips, breaks, repairs, or fading. Please review all photos as part of the condition record.
