Vintage Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Plate 2002 – Cobalt Blue, Gilt EIR Cipher, Crown & Roses, Bone China Wall Plate, England

A royal commemorative wall plate made for the 2002 Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II — the fiftieth year of her reign, 1952 to 2002. Around the centre, framed by twin gilt bands and a deep cobalt blue rim, the E II R cipher in gold, crowned and wreathed in pale blue roses. Around the lower arc, a gilt-script ribbon: 1952–2002 — GOLDEN JUBILEE — H.M. Queen Elizabeth II. Outer rim finished in a fine beaded gold band; inner edge of the cobalt border picked out in a second thin gilt line.

The format — cobalt blue with gold cipher, picked out in royal blues and gold leaf — is the traditional decorator's vocabulary for British royal commemorative china, the colours used for the Garter and for the royal arms.
